I knew Lain from the Nanaland community. He was truly a joy to know. He was kind and caring. He sent me encouraging messages and he would always send these fun gifs in the chats including owl ones since my username has to do with an owl. He would also have a good laugh when he would call in on the voice parties we had. He was even my retail buddy since I had recently started a job in retail and he would ask me how the job was going. His presence there will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. - Heather

I never met Iain (or “Link,” as I knew him) in person, but I knew him to be a funny, kind, and caring person. He knew I liked raccoons, and so he would share cute pictures and gifs of raccoons whenever he found them. He could find more than I expected to exist! He also loved my Basset Hound and always had a fun commentary for her pictures and shenanigans. I miss our interactions, and I’m sorry that the past year was such a hard one. My condolences to his family. When movie theaters are open again, I’ll go grab a bucket of popcorn and watch in Link’s honor.

Our online community has and continues to feel the loss of Iain, our friend we called Link, who was always there to laugh and chat in our voice calls and text conversations. I met him first through the live-streaming site Twitch and got to know him on the forum of Discord in the "Nanaland" community where he was cared for by so many. We won't forget him (or how he insisted butter did NOT belong on popcorn no matter how much we North Americans said otherwise). To Iain's family, please know that he is greatly missed, and that I and others will be praying for you in this time of extreme grief. - Shawna

Iain and I were a part of the same online community, and although I personally did not interact a lot with him, I remember his username as a familiar, friendly presence in chatrooms. His passing has left a noticable hole in our community; there have been several hangouts that I expect to see him pop into for a while, before remembering that he is gone. Iain was truly loved by so many people around the world. My prayers go out for his family and friends in this time of grief.

To the, “Missing” Link. You may be missing from our lives, but you will always be in our hearts. I will miss you my friend and the conversations that we had late night. You were always funny and could come up with a meme for almost any situation. I am the better for having met you, cheers to you my friend. My condolences to his family.

I had the privilege of knowing Iian through a shared online community. More than one, in fact. Over a period of time we chatted as part of the group and individually at times. During this time I came to know him as a caring, funny, warm person who seemed to love the people around him and they loved him back. It was very difficult and quite a shock to learn of his passing. The entire community mourns him. Speaking personally, his passing hit me hard. Harser than I expected. It's a tribute to his character that he could leave such a positive impact on other people around the world. He was one of us and we miss him. To you, his close family, though we could not know him and love him as well as you could, I hope it gives you comfort to know he was indeed loved by many and I hope it instills a feeling of pride in him and some measure of comfort in this hard time. You have my sincere condolences and my prayers for your comfort and healing.

I knew Iain through an online community and there he had the nickname "Link" for his love of Linkin Park. Iain was always so supportive of others and was there with a kind word or a funny animated gif when anyone needed some cheering up. Last year when the game Animal Crossing came out, we would all play the game together as a large group almost every night (which would be late for him, considering a lot of us are in the US and Canada). Those are some of the best memories that I have with Iain. He will be, and already is, so missed by all of us in the online community known as Nanaland.

I met Iain through an online group, and it was always a true joy and pleasure to see he was online in the chat. He was very much loved and a true friend to all, his kind messages and fun gifs that always helped to liven up and bring joy to the chat have been and will be dearly missed. Rest well friend, I hope to see you again someday.

Iain was always so kind and thoughtful. He would always reach out to try and cheer someone up when they were having a bad day. Truly such a sweet and genuine soul. He and I were in the same online community and it just isn't the same without him. He is dearly missed. I am grateful for the time I knew him, though I wish it could've been longer.
